In Sacred Parenting, author Gary L. Thomas describes parenting a child as an in-depth course on spiritual formation, expressly designed by God to shape your soul in ways you cannot imagine. What if one of God’s primary intentions for you as a parent isn’t about successfully raising perfect children, but about you becoming more holy?
Are there any "harmless" garden snakes that I have I been nervously protecting in my spiritual life? Prayerlessness? Selfishness? Envy? Jealousy? Lust? Pride?

Have I been aborting or embracing the carriers of new life that God has been bringing to me? Have I been open to every "new" thing that God would like to do in my life and church?

I know it isn't politically correct, but spiritually, I'm committed to kill the snakes and save the babies. I’m going to destroy "the little foxes that spoil the vine." I plan to embrace, with reckless abandonment, all that God is doing in this world.

Eggerichs masterfully makes the case that what love is to wives, respect is to husbands. It is not that husbands do not need love and wives do not need respect. Rather, the argument [...]

John Grant, world-class leader and pastor of Calvary Gospel Church, Madison, WI, once told me that “a key to building a great church is to never have a wasted church service”. Well that’s easier said than done, huh? Not really. Not when you consider what it really takes to conduct a productive worship experience.
